I have lived in Pembrokeshire since 2004 and studied carpentry and joinery at Pembrokeshire College qualifying to NVQ Level 3. I have worked in construction for 30 years, where the emphasis of my work has been in wood trades.

Previously I lived in Portugal with my family where I completely rebuilt a ruin in which we lived for 10 years. I learned many new building techniques there, working with whatever materials were available, including many timber types that were new to me.

Since living in Pembrokeshire I have completed two barn conversions as well as smaller carpentry and building projects from household jobs to play parks.

A life time of rural living has given me a deep love of natural and organic structures; leading to a desire to work in a way where the natural form and beauty of the wood is clearly visible, which is reflected in our work.

With my father being a trained cabinet maker, wood work has been an integral part of my life from an early age! I continued this into adult hood, moving to Ireland and building a thatched roundhouse that was to be my initiation into timber framing.

Whilst there I was fortunate to be able to work on many woodworking projects, training under experienced carpenters, using only traditional hand tools.  This  evolved into many projects as a self employed carpenter including hand built oak window frames, framing cut roofs, play areas, house extensions, barn conversions, shop fittings, hotel renovations and so on to Rustics.

Having obtained my ATB chainsaw licence,  a new world of woodworking techniques opened up,  the possibilities for roundwood constructions using the natural form of timber.
