Manor House Wildlife Park

MC Rustics started work at Manor House Wildlife Park in spring 2010 after the owners had seen some of our work nearby – a thatched timber and clom pig house. They wanted a group of timber and mud-thatched round houses for what then evolved into the African Village area of the zoo.

From there we went on to many varied projects around the zoo, big and small, including:
• A round oak framed gazebo with a turfed roof.
• New bridges for the gibbons Steve and Lisa, and the black and white lemurs.
• Numerous benches and tables and seating areas around the park.
• We were instrumental in the acquisition and relocation of the huge oak dragon from Glastonbury and the subsequent refurbishment and construction of the decking, steps and balustrading.
• We built the ice cream and drinks serving area outside the café.
• The underground cave shelter for the tapirs.
• The oak timber framed barn at the entrance to the African village, incorporating the glazed viewing area and house for the meerkats.
• And much much more!
